Strolling Down Brighton Pier
Behind the Scenes
Bringing an Edwardian love story to life on Brighton Pier.
Strolling Down Brighton Pier is an award-winning mini-musical by Kurt Rosenberg, directed by Kenny McCracken. This 6-minute BTS film follows the artistic process over 5 days, from costume fittings to recreating the Edwardian Era on Brighton Pier.
Shot and directed by Murray Ballard, this film allows us to experience the atmosphere and creative buzz of filming a period piece on location. We get a glimpse into directorial decisions, dealing with weather surprises and hat drama. A long-time fan of making-ofs, this was truly enjoyable work for me!
The challenge narrative-wise was to channel the dynamics of a large production without losing the humour and the feeling of camaraderie on set. The reward was working on a glamorous period piece with top-tier talent.
Strolling Down Brighton Pier (2025) is currently in the festival circuit, having already won awards from The British Film Festival, Top Indie Film Awards (Tokyo, Japan), Calgary Independent Film Festival, Las Vegas International Film and Screenwriting Festival, and others.
